Mama's video

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Here it is!!!

Today marks the third month of Mama's stay with us! And she is definitely piling on the pounds. Her belly used to be trim and without an extra inch of fat, but now it's rotund and wobbly!

Visit to cattery

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

We popped by the cattery this afternoon, it was nice to bump into Vegancat and ChaosCat there!

Our little friend Twinkle is totally living it up at the cattery.

Twinkle: Snzzz ...

Bleary-eyed Twinkle: Oh hi!

He is totally spoilt by Phyllis and her helpers, and even gets to sleep on Mei Mei's bed!

Twinkle: What to do? I am sooooo adorable!

Video courtesy of Vegancat.

Papa Porky was pleasantly surprised by this sweet ginger boy when it jumped onto his lap for cuddles. (Papa Porky has always complained that the trio at home NEVER do nice things like this.)

I found out subsequently from Mei Mei that this ginger cat is Goldie. He is truly lovable and pliant, hope he finds a good home soon ...

Are you the one?

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Kittens have no problems when it comes to finding adopters. We all know this.

The Fantastic Four are a precious bunch of kittens and we want to look for a responsible adopter who is able to look after the kiddos for life, in sickness and in health. It will most certainly break our hearts should anything happen to the Fantastic Four.

So dear potential adopters, while I thank you for the interest you have shown in the Fantastic Four, I beseech you to ask yourself: Are you the one who can provide a good and forever loving home for the cats? It is not as simple as it seems.

Bringing up Junior

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

My sister and I have absolutely no experience in bringing up newborn kitties. We've had numerous cats since we were kids, but the kittens were always taken care of by their mother.

So when this bunch of helpless kitties were thrust into our care, we were naturally quite apprehensive.

Thank goodness, the kittens chose to live, perhaps knowing that they have been given a second chance at life.

Mark that ginger boy in the video, he will grow up to melt some hearts.

The milk of human kindness

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Weighing in at between 120 and 140 grammes, these wee lil' ones can be surprisingly feisty during feed time.

Possibly the runt of the litter, this ginger baby gets fed first.

Visit Twinkle this weekend!

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Come on down to Phyllis' cattery this weekend!

There's an
adoption drive plus mini bazaar where you can buy Phyllis' delectable pineapple tarts!

And you can see for yourself how lovely the cats are, including Twinkle.

Sparring partners

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Cats are silly creatures :)

They never cease to amuse me.

Hello Kootie!

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Kootie, a Kootoo clone, is available for adoption.

The two-month old tabby boy is being fostered by my sister. The playful rascal has adapted to the multi-cat environment very well, and is especially close to Brownie Tortie. He was found by my brother at the void deck.

Mama Mia!

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

First it was my sister, now it's my mum's turn.

To catnap, that is!

My dear mum was doing a spot of gardening at the common garden maintained by the Residents' Committee, when she came across this skin-and-bones Tortie girl.

And what's a soft-hearted person got to do, except to bring it home and give it food and shelter?

The vet guestimates that Brownie, as she is now known, is about 6 to 7 weeks old. But she looks 3 months old to me.

Honestly, I think the chances of her getting adopted are quite low. Torties are an acquired taste where looks are concerned, although my experience thus far shows that Torties have one of the sweetest temperaments among cats.

No matter what, the important thing now is to fatten up scrawny Brownie.

Twinkle Twinkle Shining Bright

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

I could hardly recognise our little friend Twinkle from this video, courtesy of Vegancat.

This boy has grown so much!

When I went to the cattery yesterday afternoon, he was sleeping like a log!

Twinkle and friends

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

This was supposedly Mondee's video, but guess who hogged the limelight (and the toy) and even swatted Mondee while playing? :D

Thanks to Vegancat for sharing this lovely video clip.

Tata and Dodo

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Or the kitties formerly known as Doe and Ray :)

Their "parents" Larry and Kaelyn have renamed them Tata and Dodo.

An email update from Larry:

They grow very fast, Tata is 2+ kg while Dodo is about 2kg. Both are equally naughty. My bedsheet, my sofa, my bag...all gone thanks to their claws. We've just bought a pack of Natural Balance to mix with APD. Somehow, they prefer the new food which is 2 times more expensive. I found out 2 interesting things. Dodo likes to eat honeydew, keeps chasing Kaelyn asking for more. And Tata likes plain bread. He can even smell it while sleeping. I have attached some pictures of them taken in my room [now become their room too :( ]

Their sister Meeks sends her love to the boys!!

Twinkle Twinkle

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Thanks to Vegancat, who sent over this lovely clip of our dear little friend, Twinkle!

Twinkle has blossomed into a beautiful kitty, so full of life!

Phyllis, Mei-mei and Lala has done a great job transforming this sickly kitten on the brink of death to a handsome boy.

China pixs

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

In my humble opinion, the West Lake in Hangzhou is over-rated. Maybe the Spring-time crowd there got to me, I didn't find West Lake especially enchanting.

Shanghai zaps me with its fast-paced mode and horrendous traffic, but at the same time it perks me up with its dynamism and energy.

I look forward to the day when I can cross the roads safely, without cars and motorbikes ramming into me even though it is MY right of way.

Update on Twinkle

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Poor Twinkle has been keeping Phyllis very busy the past couple of weeks with his diarrhoea.

After several vet visits, it is now confirmed that the little fella is down with some kind of poisoning, the cause of which might be attributed to the fumigation at the rubbish dump where he was found.

It breaks our hearts to see him suffering. We can't wait to see this manja purring machine back in the pink of health!

Some random pictures taken at the cattery today:
