I am down with a cold, wish I could stay at home and chill out with the kitties.
Alas, the projects at work would not allow that!
Oh it's just not fair! Why do the kitties get to laze about at home 24 hours a day, and I -- I who bring home the kibbles must slog so hard, even when sick???

We have fur on the sofa, on my dress, on the kitchen stove, on Papa Porky's trouser legs, in Papa Porky's nostrils even!! You HAVE to expect fur with cats around the house, eh? Just vacuum and sweep the floor more often lah. Invest in magic wipes!!
You need to brush your cats' cat regularly, even if they are shorthair. Brushing helps to remove the loose hair and hence, they may shed less around the house.
Diet could be a cause of excessive shedding too. What are you feeding them?
if all else fails -- you may wish to consider getting your kitts to wear a hair net? Just kiddin!! :P
