I got myself a pressie! :D
I thought it's about time I look for a vacuum cleaner that does its job in half the time so that I can spend more time doing what I like - eg snoozing with the kitties, reading, catching up on my sleep ...
So I bit the bullet and bought the Miele S4562 Cat & Dog vacuum cleaner! (Quite a misnomer, the name of the model. It sucks up fur, not cats and dogs, duh! :P)
We've used it for a month, it's a godsend! The couch is fur-free in less than a minute, the powerful turbo suction head lives up to its name!
The vacuum cleaner is a bit on the expensive side, I got mine at about S$800+, inclusive of extra dust bags, HEPA filter etc. But I think it's a good investment!

A good vacuum is something I don't have. I have an upright that is fine for the carpets, but not good for all the bare floor -- just blows the fur and dust and dirt around! I've love a *good* canister vacuum -- used to have one, years ago.
We gave up on vacuum cleaners with dust bags ever since we had KK in 2001 as 1) we find that the dust bag will be full very quickly, 2) suction power will gradually be reduced when the bag starts filling up and 3) if you suck up some water, the vacuum cleaner will start to smell really bad.
We had used both cleaners either with the water (like Osim mermaid) or cyclone (think Dyson) technology. We find that both allows for regular cleaning of the "dust bag" and is better than the traditional dust bag cleaner.

I have a web site where I research stocks under five dollars. I have many years of experience with these type of stocks. I would like to comment about pennys stocks start small. I would recommend that the novice investors avoid those stocks that trade under 1 dollar on the over the counter bulletin board and pink sheets. these stocks are of very poor and very very speculative. I would instead recommend that investors in penny stocks stick with stocks that trade on the new york stock exchange or nasdaq. their rare exceptions when a stock under 1 dollar can be very profitable .I purchased a stock called overhill farms 14 years ago for 25 cents a share today the stock trades at 6 dollars a share and I still own the stock.
