... to nice little kitties like Scout, it's the Supreme Being's way of reminding you that everything is impermanent.
Scout could be suffering from FIP - a fatal, incurable disease. He's got fluid in his chest and is having breathing difficulties. He's back at foster home now but is due for a follow-up vet visit this Friday to confirm if it's indeed FIP.
We are all very distraught :'(
We can only pray that he will not suffer much ...

Am very sorry to hear about Scout's suspect FIP status. I've had lost some cats to this dreadful viral disease.
Is Scout hvg any bloated tummy? There are 2 forms of FIP - wet & dry. If Scout is indeed suffering from FIP, then likely to be wet form. Test for FIP is via blood test but is not 100% full-proof.
Really hope that Scout's current condition is not due to FIP. To suffer from wet form FIP, it's akin to drowning from within as fluids will accumulate from within & therefore crippling the internal organs, fatally. However, there are also cats who are tested +ve for FIP but still live on healthily - they are known as 'carriers'. I've a cat who is tested +ve some 5 years back & she is still very much alive with me. If Scout is able to pull through this ordeal, you'll have to boost his immune system by giving supplements.

Don't worry too much till the lab results are out. Little Scout will pull through. Cats are tough little animals. They can take whatever life throws at them.
