Yes. Al cheapo, that's what we are.
We didn't want to shell out a thousand bucks for a wide angle lens, so Papa Porky got us a lens converter (oh the shame!!) that costs a tenth of the price.
And I tried it on the kitties ...
It made Milo appear more sinister with his hooked nose ...
At the camera's widest zoom setting, Muffy looks like he is living in a capsule ...
And it definitely made Kootoo more goondu, or maybe he is born with it :(

Wide angle mah... the effect not bad leh. Look at it this way, at least you got a DSLR to screw the converter on. We got zilch.

you can get a relatively wide lens, actually a fisheye from the Russian made 16mm Zenitar.
Got mine from Ebay for around USD150 without shipping.
