The More We Get Together

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Staying together, the cats endeavoured to command the green glitter ball to move forward with sheer eye power.

There you have it -- the first photo of the Monster and the Terror together, in a show of peace and harmony ... albeit for 5 seconds.

Kootoo still hunts Muffin down as if he's a little rodent, while cheeky Muffin has no qualms about pouncing on the lardball who is like five times his size.

Otherwise, things are a-okay ... can somebody tell me how to stop Kootoo from pilfering Muffin's food?

Cat quote of the day:
Catmandments #10 - Above all, thou shalt do anything it takes to keep me happy.

Awwww nothing is more sexy than boys pitching their efforts, doing man things together!! Good to see Kootoo and Muffin getting there, eventually....

Hey, it's great they are finally getting along well together, even if it is only for a few seconds a day. They will learn to co-exist soon enough especially if they know all their individual off-limits.

Read somewhere that even the most bitter enemies (cats I mean) will snuggle together for bodily warmth on a cold winter's day. Since Singapore does not have any cold winters, perhaps you might want to bath them and then place them together in a cage to dry off. They might just snuggle together after that.

Good news! Tiffy will be going back to Melissa and staying there for good. :D

My human pet fed Isis separately from me when she adopted her. She would take Isis into another room and handle it that way. If that's impossible, think of the bathroom as a means to separate for feeding time.

It's neat to see them playing together! Muffin is just so adorable with those big eyes!

For the info of all you nice folks out here, there was still quite a bit of fur flying around this morning, mostly Muffy's white. Once mama piggy is not around to mediate, the most bloodcurdling meows and hisses erupt from the kitchen, hall and everywhere that they pounce on each other...

I dread the day when Muffy gets as big as Kootoo. We will have enough grey and white fur floating in the house to fill pillows. Simmons anyone?

I still think Kootoo is sweeter than Muffy though. Even if the lardball is the one jumping more on the smaller terror, he seems less vicious and bitey. Either that, or its the bollocks. The lack of, i mean :)

thanks for the update papa piggy. im speculating that all the aggro emitting from both du monster and du terror is all due to the male testosterone, ego and whatever you may call it.

or dare i say that kootoo has finally met his match?

now kootoo, don't give me that snarl.

Senhor Achiwawa writes:

When our male kitten Sandy was growing, he was also quite rough with Pepper, the elder 10-year old one, and always pouncing on him. Now 1.5 years old (and after the "chop"), Sandy is much gentler. But he still enjoys pouncing. Guess its the same for Muffin.

We would like to send Muffin to Marine Parade for guerilla training, got space? ;) Will supply kibbles and litter. I think Bella Groucho will have a ball of a time smacking Muffin ...

mama piggy is tired out from all the fighting and pouncing. so kootoo and muffy pls simmer down and watch tv or something...

(kootoo used to do that when he first came in. then he moved on to just snoozing against our legs when we watch tv. until muffy came along, that is.)

i also went to the north to look for the homeopatic drops to reduce feline aggro but a number of pet shops dont seem to have it.

any suggestions short of me plucking grass from the roadside as herbs?

Try Feliway, available from most vets. It mimics the cat's pheromones and helps to calm them down.

On the other hand, you won't find them pouncing on each other in a year or so when Muffin grows up and finishes his quota of mischief. So maybe you should "cherish" it while you can. The pouncing can help Mr Kootoo shed some pounds too.
