Scrapbook for Phyllis

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Am going to make a scrapbook of Muffin's growing up pixs for Phyllis, who fostered him and healed his wounds.

Of course, the scrapbook should contain some classic pixs, like this one:

Muffin: But ... but ... but they told me I'm a girl! Am I too purrrty for my own good?

And this one:

Muffin: Gaaaah! Now that they've decided that I am a boy there's no need for me to behave like a lady.

Vegancat says Phyllis would be thrilled to tears. Heheh ... more likely to be tickled to tears.

Hairy and Hairier

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

You decide who's which :)

Just so that you know which part of Papa Porky's anatomy was shown in the pix ...

Respite

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Thank goodness for the morning shower, albeit a short one.

The heat in the past couple of days has gotten rather unbearable, even for the cats, as demonstrated by Milo. See the cutesy close-up!

Post-lunch portraits

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Typical kitty behaviour after the weekly treat of schtinky wet food ...

Kootoo: Gawd ... think I over-ate again ... *Burp*

Muffin in a horizontal stupor.

Milo: Mumsy's lap is the bestest spot for afternoon snooze.

My heart skips a beat ...

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

... whenever I see Tortie Mummy aka Milo's Mummy at the multi-storey carpark in my estate. And then I give thanks for the fact that she is still well and alive.

I worry for her, because she is such a friendly and approachable community cat -- an easy target for potential abusers and "the authorities".

Also, some feeders in my estate have been leaving food in disposable containers for the cats, and it's a messy sight. I haven't been able to catch them in the act and advise them to clean up.

While I am glad that there are kind souls who care for Tortie Mummy and a couple of other community cats here, I hope they realise that their very action could get the cats into trouble, if they don't clear up the mess.

Already, the Malay uncle who also feeds Tortie Mummy (with dry food) told me the other day that someone from the town council told him to stop feeding the cats. I gave the uncle my mobile number and told him to contact me if the town council guy harangues him again. It also came to my knowledge that earlier on, "the authorities" had sent cat traps to our estate. Surely we can work out a more humane solution instead of a quick-fix that necessitates the loss of innocent feline lives?

As for "the authorities", is it too much of me to ask that you DO NOT round up cats with tipped ears?!? Cats like Tortie Mummy have already been "fixed", now go "fix" something else, like the broken solar-powered lamps at Potong Pasir!

Cute & Meaningful decal

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Saw this decal on a car window in Lorong Ah Soo today. Does anyone know how/where I can get one? The website
says free copies are available for organisations/groups, so I don't think it will entertain individual requests ...

Thanks in advance!

WWF

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Yes, the Wonderful Wrestling Felines are at it again.

As you can see, Muffin is back to his old self, save for his shrivelled and shaven pea sacs.

Cat quote of the day:
One reason we admire cats is for their proficiency in one-upmanship. They always seem to come out on top, no matter what they are doing, or pretend they do.

All is quiet

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

The House of Pigs has never been this quiet.

Muffin is still subdued and sore from his op ...

(Oh, and look at his pawdicure!)

The other two kitties know better than to kacheow (Malay for bother) the ball-less one.

Big Brother Kootoo is the cool cat who's gone through this necessary rite of passage into manhood ...

... while Milo contemplates with quiet trepidation, knowing that his turn will come in three months.

Cat quote of the day:
Cats never feel threatened. They are genetically incapable of accepting that anyone could possibly dislike anything as perfect as a cat.

The harvest is done

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Muffin was robbed of his mojo today and is now recuperating at home.

He's a tough cookie, we expect him to revert to his playful self by tomorrow.

He ain't smelly, he's my brother

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Muffin doing the brotherly thang ...

It's really sweet of him, isn't it? :) Milo's "BO" has gone away, we don't know why, but we are certainly not complaining!

Cat quote of the day:
Cats can be cooperative when something feels good, which, to a cat, is the way everything is supposed to feel as much of the time as possible.

Fixing Muffin

Now don't look at me like that, I am not the one who's going to fix Muffin!

Afterall, fixing my fellow being is hardly congruent with my recently revamped hip and happening image (ahem!).

Besides, I am also a victim of fixing, here's the evidence (not for the squeamish):

I think Muffin is still clueless of the fact that he's going to lose his ballies on 8 August. Such an auspicious date, don't you think? Snigger ...

Smelly Milo

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Yes, Milo's got a, er, rather embarrassing problem.

He's got BO. (That's Body Odour, duh!)

Papa Porky had just complained that he smells of vomit -_-

He reeks of foul saliva mostly, really.

The strange thing is, the smell is concentrated at the nape of his neck down to his back.

So my theory is: he probably got the smell of saliva from Muffin, as Muffy likes to bite him there during play, thus leaving his scented saliva on Milo's nape and back.

But if that's the case, why doesn't Muffin smell as bad, since he grooms himself??

Kootoo enjoying the fresh, crisp evening air - a rare commodity nowadays.

We pray ...

... for the little kitten who lost its life under such terrible circumstances.

We pray for the perpetrator to be brought to justice soon.

We pray that our fellow brothers and sisters out there are safe from harm.

And we pray for love for all creatures big and small -- for without love, life is nothing.

Impressions

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

We cat loving/blogging people had a gathering at The Marche at Suntec City yesterday. It was fun trying to reconcile the cat persona in blogosphere to the faces we saw yesterday ...

Here's my impression of the gang:

CatDonna: a "garang" and passionate donna who is devoted to her 'dominatrix' Pip

kuro.shiro.neko: no-nonsense, outspoken and candid -- I like!! :)

5-Cat Style & The Flyer: two very sweet and mild-mannered cat loving sisters

Mister KXBC: he whose life is ruled by cats, and please stop hankering after Kootoo Monster! :P

Till we meet again, the adventures of Kootoo Monster, Muffin Terror and Milo Poopster shall continue ...

It's good to be home!

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

Yes it is good to be home, to find that nothing has changed for the worse (or better) ... 'cept that Papa Porky looks rather worn out (it can't be that tiring scooping poop, changing the water dish and making sure that there are fresh kibbles round the clock for the trio, can it?) ...

Was rather miffed that when I got home last night, Kootoo was more interested in my luggage than welcoming me :(

While Muffin and Milo continued to be at each other's jugular.

Anyways, I've got a little prezzy for those of you attending this Saturday's SG Cat Blogger gathering at Marche @ Suntec at 1.30pm.

Take your pick - wrist band or mobile phone strap with cute fortune cat.

Whilst stocks last! :)

Howl!

Mama Piggy is going on a trip to China tomorrow, and she will be away for 10 days!!!

We would have to rely on Papa Porky to take care of us ...

Will he remember to change our water twice a day?

Will he remember to scoop the poop and pee frequently?

Will he warm some milk for us every night?

And who will mediate when Muffin and Milo get into a fight?

Not me.

And if I were Milo, I would stay inside the cubby hole to keep away from Muffin Terror.

Poopster

Meet Poopster, my baby brother. He responds to the name of Milo too, but Mama Piggy has been calling him Poopster of late as he CRAPS too much. Maybe he is still not used to the diet.

Apart from his excessive bowel movement, Poopster is kinda cute.

Even Muffin the Groucho has been charmed by him, and they even schmooze together.

The kitties have "arrived"!

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

No cat owner's life is complete without it - the Kitty Condo!!!

Kootoo and Muffin were miffed by the lack of lifts (too bad, moggies, this is Hougang, the opposition ward) ...

... while Milo was contented with a second floor premium unit that has a room with a view.

Me thinks these three ex-community cats are a lucky bunch.
