Fang you ...

From the desk of Mama Piggy:

We've crept into Week 2, and the two kitties are not chums yet.

Kootoo: I don't like your face, you ninny.

Muffin: Not if you have my cute, innocent looks, Fatso!

One is shamelessly territorial, while the other alternates between a super-manja sweetie-pie and a psychotic terrorist.

Do I look like I am in a good mood? Get that blinking camera outta my face NOW!

The only 'improvement' is that Kootoo no longer has that murderous look in his eyes, but the bites are still vicious. On the other hand, little Muffin has learnt to fight the resident monster back, with plenty of fangs and talons of course.

This is how I sharpen my fangs, fang you ...

I just have to make sure the 5-kg lardball doesn't crush the skinny one like a sumo wrestler ...

It's good to hear the Kootoo has calmed it down somewhat. Muffin is as adorable as ever. My human pet keeps muttering something about "new kitties". I don't think I should share these pictures of Muffin with her!

Kootoo still looks upset, I think Muffin is not giving in to him!!

Maybe letting the Kootoo monster spank Muffin (with Mama observing and intervenning if necessary) may not be a bad idea. This will sort out the hierarchy issue probably once and for all. For Kootoo to tell the little guy "Hey, I'm in charge here" and for the little thing to know that he will be walloped again if he goes beyond KM's tolerance level.

A little fight is not too bad as long as no blood is drawn. I can tolerate a bit of flying fur here and there for a week or so.

Some cats will never be chums. My 5 cats live harmoniously together but you can't call them chums at all.

Kootoo Monster looks cute in that 1st photo, although not too happy at all. You're also very handsome KM! *sayang*

Hang in there, piggy mum! :)

Have you heard of Bach Flower Essence? You can buy one that is useful for aggression. It is easily available in Australia and New Zealand from "natural therapy" shops.

papas> It was just a minor boo-boo, no need to tell the whole world! :P

vegancat> hmmmm, that's what the vet recommended too, some homeopathy thingy. I guess there's really no harm trying it out. In any case, I guess I could always take some of it to calm myself when the two kitties get on MY nerves! :)

I think Feliway (available from vets) may help too. Read that it helps to calm kitties down. No experience using it though.

Mothers always love their first born more, especially a handsome boy like Kootoo? :)
