Letting go is not about giving up responsibilities or hope.
On the contrary, the beauty of it is not grasping to things that will mislead u to believe they are permenant, the result of this is a pair of wise eyes to work with a kind heart that will work well with the nature of all things.
Let go but never give up, true hope waits for wise and kind. :-)
Indeed letting go doesn't mean giving up responsibility but seeing the "truth" of our experiences as impermanent, whether it is "good" or "bad". Joy is savouring the experience of the moment, the joy of watching our kindness bringing happiness to other sentient beings like cats but when the time comes for parting, we let go but the joy of the connections remains like reverberations in our mind.
